As you and your child come into our Kid's areas (6 weeks - 5th grade) you will first approach a health screening table. Each child will have their temperature taken and the parent will answer a few short health screening questions.
After you leave the Health Screening Station you will approach our check-in desk and you will be greeted by a member of our Kids of Victory Check-In Team. You will receive a name tag and/or check in band for your child and a corresponding security number on a card for Nursery and Toddler and a numbered visor card for elementary (age 5 yrs. - 5th Grade) for yourself at our check-in location. Please alert check-in personnel of any information that will help in caring for your child, such as allergies and special needs. Your child will then enter the Nursery Toddler wing or the Kids Auditorium. Please note that parents are not allowed in the auditorium or Nursery/Toddler halls without the corresponding security tag. All serve team members have been through a screening process to ensure the safety of your child.
What to Expect in Nursery/Toddlers (6 weeks - 4 yrs.) REOPENS SUNDAY, MARCH 28
Your child's age-appropriate classroom name can be found on their name tag. A team member will meet you at the door to your child's classroom to receive your child's diaper/diaper bag, and any other necessary items you may have. Please inform nursery team member of any specific instructions you may have for your child.
After you have completed the check-in process, wave a quick good-bye and head into the worship service. As you know, it is common for little ones to cry when a parent leaves. This, typically, does not last long. Separation will become easier over time. Our leaders will immediately engage your child in a toy or activity and ensure your child that you will return soon. If your child cries for an extended period of time, we will page you using the number that corresponds to the one on your security tag. This number will be displayed in the box over the exit doors to the left side of the stage.
When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following items:
- Two or three disposable diapers
- An extra change of clothes
- A bottle of milk, formula, juice or water
Please label all personal items (including pacifiers and bottles/sippy cups) with your child's first and last name before arriving at your child's class. This helps know which items belong to your child.
We believe that even our littlest ones can learn about the love of Christ! Regular learning experiences are planned and lessons are reinforced with songs, Bible thoughts, and supervised activities designed with the ability of your child in mind.
When the time comes to pick up your child, please return to the appropriate room and present your security tag to the nursery team member at the door. The tag will be matched to your child's name tag before he/she will be released into your care. A child will not be able to leave the room with a parent. without the presentation of the security tag. In the event you lose your security tag, you will be asked to show proper identification before your child is returned to you. Please make sure that you have all of your child's belongings with you before you leave.
Parents Mother's Room
We have created a Nursing Mother's Room for our parents to use. The Mother's Room is equipped with gliders and changing station. Mothers may comfortabley view the service on a television monitor while they tend to their infants. To respect everyone's privacy, these rooms are for women only.
Child Dedication Service
Victory Church observes child dedication. This is a special time when parents thank God for a precious new life and pledge themselves to follow the Lord's leadership in the development of their child. This is offered every 5th Sunday. For information regarding these special times or4 to register, please email us at .
Preschoolers are encouraged to participate in opening activities such as working a puzzle or reading a book. The teacher will use these activities to reinforce Biblical truths each week.
Gathering for Group Time
Each classroom will have fun with songs and games to help the toddlers and preschoolers prepare for story time. Prayer is always a part of our group time.
We will use DVD or internet based curriculum from Right Now Media, resources from Church of the Highlands, and other approved materials to appeal to each child's imagination. They will learn basic Biblical truths that can be applied in their preschool realm, all while having fun! Bible verses, songs, and games are also used to emphsize the theme and focus of the lesson.
To help reduce the potential spread of covid, we ask that you promptly pick up your child after each service. When you pick up your child from class, please be sure to take your child's take-home bag which will be located outside of the room. This will have your child's belongings, color sheets, craft, and take-home activity page. The teacher will check your security tag and your child's name tag for a match before placing the preschooler into your care. A child will not be able to leave the room without the presentation of the security tag. In the event you lose your security tag, you will be asked to show proper identification before your child may leave with you.
Family Time: "Take-Home Sheet"
Each child may receive an activity page that includes the week's Bible story, Bible verse, and a related activity. You can read the story and the Bible verse with your child to help them understand the lesson and the verse. Save the "Take-Home sheet" and use it during the week. This interaction with your child can be very rewarding for the both of you.
What to Expect in Kids of Victory
Game Stations & Group Game
Upon entering the doors, your child will notice several game stations throughout the room. It is our responsibility to make your child feel welcome, loved and at home while they are in Kids of Victory Elementary. While your child is enjoying their game stations, a leader will be sure to connect with them to make sure they are engaged in the game, playing with the other children, and building relationships.
Kids of Victory Elementary begin every service with a three song worship set. This set includes two upbeat praise songs and one worship song. We highly encourage the kids to give God their "all" during the worship song; at the same time, we allow them to worship God in the style that meets their comfort level. After the third song, the worship leader or service leader will open in prayer.
Core Values & Memory Verse
In Kids of Victory, there are four core values that mirror the beliefs of Victory Church. Below are the values we communicate to the children every Sunday:
1. Love God. We love God because God is love and He first loved us. Luke 10:27, John 3:16
2. Love People. We love people because God loves ALL people! Luke 10:27, John 13:34
3. Do Your Best. Do your best and God does the rest! Philippians 4:14, 1 Corinthians 10:31
4. Have Fun! Have fun because God gives you joy! Acts 13:52, Romans 14:17
Object Lesson, Illustrated Message & Salvation Prayer
An illustrated message introduces the main point to your child by using visuals and allows them to grasp and remember the lesson for the dat. Each Kids of Victory curriculum consists of a Biblical story and a themed lesson. Once the main point has been summed up, we will ask the kids if they want to receive the gift that God has for them.
Once the salvation prayer is complete, children divide into gender-specific small groups. We begin each group with prayer. During small group, we focus on prayer and connection questions. Prayer is one of the big wins for the small group time! Small group questions will be gone over to talk more about the Bible story they learned. At this point we are purposefully working on developing a relationship with your child.
To help reduce the potential spread of covid, we ask that you promptly pick up your child after each service. We are implementing a new pick up process for Kids of Victory Elementary 5 yrs. - 5th grade that is located in the Family Center. We will have a drive through pick up, (similar to that of your schools), and you will be giving a security visor and security card with a number on it. For quick dismissal, please have your visor card visible when you drive through for pick up. You will also be given a map of the drive through process at check-in.
For the protection of your child, they will not be allowed to get into the car with anyone that does not have the security number. If you have an emergency or need to leave before 11:45, you may walk over to the Family Center Lobby and wait at the doors to the auditorium and a team member will come check your child out to you. Please have security number with you. The team member will check your security number and your child's band for a match before allowing you to leave with your child. A child will not be able to leave the room without the presentation of the security number card or visor card. In the event you lose your security number card, you will be asked to show proper identification before your child may leave with you.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children!
